or the painting on brown paper you thought was just a practice
sketch to be discarded by the cleanup crew.
How do you paint as many mental states as it takes
to overcome contrived solutions and clarity of design.
The passion of exploration cannot be confined to a day
or a month, nor a lifetime even for the joy of brown paper itself.
From such ambitious projects come the raw ideas of mythological
landscapes painted half under the table of a July afternoon.
